Conventions

Following the disappointing attendances during the recent 2013 Lions District Convention at Gumeracha, the District Executive have some very real concerns regarding the future of the District Convention surviving in its current form.

In an effort to decide exactly what the members of the district actually want from the District convention which may encourage them to attend; your personal views are urgently sought.

As the convention is, in essence, the AGM of the Lion’s District. The attendance of as many Lions as possible is preferred to ensure we make the best possible decisions for the betterment of, not only our own District, but for Lions in general.

In the past, many have attended the District Convention, not necessarily to speak out and be heard, but to represent their club as a delegate and vote according to the wishes of the members of their club on various issues on the convention agenda.  Many have attended to learn about our district, listen to interesting Guest Speakers, meet new friends from around the District and catch up with friends they may not have seen for a while.  It is an opportunity to enjoy fun, fellowship and fabulous food from the area wherever the convention is being held.  For many it may be an opportunity to swap ideas on projects and activities their club may be interested in.

We would very much appreciate it if you would dedicate 10 minutes to answer the questions on this questionnaire,/files/201c1/Convention Survey Form blank 2014-01.pdf ) as truthfully as possible, so we can best assess the attitude of the District Membership and develop a Strategic Plan for our future Conventions.

Please email these forms to alionken@westnet.com.au.

Many thanks for your assistance in this matter, and should you require any further information, or wish to talk personally with a member of the District Executive, please do not hesitate to contact us or your Zone Chairman by email or phone. All contact details are in the Directory.
